Pet Care Services in Glanbrook | Loving Paws

You’ve got a long day ahead, the dog’s giving you that look by the back door, and your cat’s already plotting something with the houseplants. Maybe you’re heading out to the cottage this weekend, or just need someone reliable for the morning walk while you’re commuting into the city. Whatever it is, Glanbrook pet owners need pet care that actually shows up and treats their animals like family.

Your Pet Stays Home, Stress-Free

In-home pet care in Glanbrook means no long drive to a kennel and no unfamiliar environment — your dog or cat stays on routine in the space they already trust.

Every Visit, Fully Reported

Photo updates and e-diary notes document feeding, medication, behaviour, and health after each visit — a care log you can review yourself or share with your vet.

Certified Team for All Your Pet's Needs

Walking, sitting, medical care, nail trims, and training in Glanbrook — delivered by PSI-certified, insured, bonded caregivers who know your pet by name and by habit.

In-Home Pet Care That Fits Glanbrook Life

Glanbrook isn’t your average Hamilton neighbourhood. It’s a mix of acreage, quiet country roads, and growing family communities near Binbrook, which means a lot of dogs with energy to burn and cats who’ve claimed their territory and aren’t keen on leaving it. Boarding a pet from out here usually means a long drive, an unfamiliar kennel, and a stressed-out animal coming home wired or withdrawn.

That’s where we come in. Loving Paws & House Sitting has been caring for Ontario pets in their own homes since 2005, and our Glanbrook caregivers know the area from the trails around Binbrook Conservation Area to the quieter streets near Glanbrook Hills Park.

Every member of our 15+ person team is Pet Sitters International (PSI) certified, background-checked, bonded, and fully insured. We’ve looked after more than 5,000 pets across Hamilton, Mississauga, and Ottawa, and we hold a 4.9/5 rating across 75+ reviews. No cages, no strange smells, no roommates barking through the night, just your pet, at home, on their normal schedule.

Services We Offer in Glanbrook

Dog Walking

Looking for a reliable dog walker in Glanbrook? We do daily walks built around your dog’s pace and personality, whether that’s a long ramble near Binbrook Conservation Area for a high-energy lab, or a gentle loop around the block for an older pup. Great for working pet parents and anyone whose dog needs more than the backyard.

In-Home Dog Sitting & Puppy Sitting

When you’re away, we stay. Overnight or daytime in-home dog sitting means your dog or puppy sleeps in their own bed, eats their regular food, and keeps their routine. We handle medication, anxiety management, potty schedules, and play everything you’d do yourself.

Cat Sitting

Cats hate change, full stop. Our local cat sitters come to your home for feeding, fresh water, litter maintenance, and proper enrichment not just a five-minute drive-by. Ideal for travellers, shift workers, and anyone with a cat who’d rather skip the carrier ride.

Small Pet Sitting

Rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, we look after them all. Habitat cleaning, species-appropriate feeding, temperature checks for reptiles, and the gentle handling small pets need. If your vet approves, so will we.

Medical Care

Post-op recovery, senior pets on multiple medications, chronic conditions — we’ve handled it. Our caregivers follow your vet’s instructions to the letter, track symptoms in our e-diary, and flag anything that looks off. Peace of mind when your pet needs a steadier hand.

Nail Trims

Nail trims at the clinic are stressful for a lot of dogs and cats. We do them in your home using a low-stress, go-at-their-pace technique, often while they’re relaxed on their own couch. Quick, quiet, and far easier on anxious animals.

Virtual Veterinary Consultations

Not every concern needs a clinic visit. Our virtual vet service connects you with licensed Ontario veterinarians for advice on minor symptoms, behaviour questions, or post-op follow-ups, handy on weekends or when you’re trying to figure out if something can wait until Monday.

Puppy Training

We use positive reinforcement to build the basics of name recognition, leash manners, crate comfort, sit and stay, and early socialization. In-home sessions mean your puppy learns in the environment they actually live in, which sticks better than anything they’d pick up in a busy class.

House Sitting

Heading away for a week or two? Our house sitter service in Hamilton combines full pet care with home-watch basics — mail and parcel collection, plant watering, alternating lights, and a visible presence so your place doesn’t sit empty. One trusted person handling both your pets and your home.

Why Glanbrook Pet Owners Choose Loving Paws

The biggest thing people tell us is they’re done with the app-based gamble. You shouldn’t have to wonder who’s actually showing up to your door or whether they’ve ever held a leash before. Our caregivers are employees we know personally, background-checked, bonded, and insured. No grey zone, no strangers off a marketplace.

Our Ready-Key program handles home access the right way. Keys are logged, tracked, and stored securely, so the same trusted caregiver can let themselves in for every visit without the awkward key-swap dance every time you travel.

After every visit, you get photo updates and an e-diary note on what your dog ate, how the walk went, and whether your cat finally came out from under the bed. It’s the small stuff that makes the difference when you’re away.

Booking is online and available 24/7, so you can lock in a midnight realization, “I forgot to arrange the dog walker,” without leaving a voicemail. And compared to pet hotels and boarding kennels especially for multi-pet households, our pricing usually comes out competitive or better, with none of the boarding stress.

Twenty years in, we still treat every pet like the only one on our roster. That’s the part that doesn’t show up on a spec sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does in-home pet sitting work compared to boarding?

Instead of dropping your pet at a facility, we come to your home on a schedule that matches their routine. They stay in familiar surroundings, sleep in their own bed, and keep eating the same food, which removes most of the stress that comes with boarding. We handle feeding, walks, play, medication, and home check-ins, then send you photo updates so you can see how they’re doing.

Do you work with anxious or rescue animals?

Yes — separation anxiety and rescue animals are a big part of what we do. We move slowly, follow your pet’s lead, and stick closely to whatever calm-down routines already work at home. Many of our clients came to us specifically because their rescue dog couldn’t handle a kennel.

Can you administer medication and handle post-op recovery?

Absolutely. Our PSI-certified caregivers are trained in medication administration, pills, liquids, topical treatments, injections like insulin, and post-op care. We follow your vet’s instructions exactly and log everything in your e-diary so there’s a clear record.

How does the Ready-Key program work?

Ready-Key is our secure home-access system. We collect your key, label, and store it under a coded system, and assign it only to your designated caregiver. It means no last-minute key handoffs every time you travel, and your home access stays accountable and tracked.

How does your pricing compare to pet hotels or boarding kennels?

In most cases, our in-home service is competitive with and often more affordable than boarding, especially if you have more than one pet. Boarding usually charges per pet, per night, while we care for your whole household in one visit. You also save the stress (and gas) of the drop-off and pick-up routine.

Are your caregivers actually insured and bonded?

Yes, fully. Every caregiver on our team is background-checked, bonded, and insured under our company policy, not relying on a gig-platform’s coverage. It’s a real safeguard if anything ever goes sideways.

How do I book a visit?

Online, anytime. Our booking system runs 24/7, so you can request visits whenever you remember including at 11 p.m. the night before a trip. We’ll confirm quickly and match you with a regular caregiver for consistency.

Do you cover the Binbrook and rural Glanbrook areas?

Yes, we serve all of Glanbrook, from Binbrook and the streets around the conservation area to the more rural pockets toward Mount Hope. If you’re not sure whether you’re in our service zone, send us your postal code, and we’ll confirm right away.

Reasons to join our team and earn a good income

WE WORK HARD TO SUPPORT OUR DOG WALKERS, AND PET & HOUSE SITTERS

  • Work with us as one of our sub-contractors by driving to the homes of our clients to provide dog walking, pet sitting, medical care, and house sitting services.

  • The amount of work depends on the number of requests we receive from clients for our services, and that number keeps on growing as more and more pet parents and home owners learn of our services.

  • We diligently maintain our website and routinely work to ensure strong Web Search Engine Optimization so that our website appears top-most on web pages for search results.

  • Requests for our services come from clients who come to our website and submit quote or reservation requests. We then assign the work directly to you.

  • All work is paid, and we pay one of the pet care industry’s best rates for walking dogs, pet sitting, and house sitting.

  • No purchase of any “kit” is required to work for us. We do not charge any fee as a condition of working with us. We are not a pyramid-type organization.

  • There is much flexibility in terms of where, when, and how work is done, as long as the needs of our clients and their pets are met, and as long as what is paid for is done (we guarantee the duration of each visit, and that the visit will take place). Most clients are easy going about the services they need. Some clients are more specific; e.g. if their pet needs medication.

  • Aside from a computer with internet access, cell phone, and a vehicle that you need to work with us, we provide everything else you need to do the work, and for free: our admin software tool, access to our database, personalized email address, your insurance coverage and bonding, all the necessary printed materials, a professional binder for all documents, 4 handbooks covering medical care, procedures, and policies topics, and brochures/posters for networking.

  • We generally sponsor one major pet-related event annually; e.g. Pet Expo, and expect you will attend with us.

  • We put you in touch with new clients after they accept our quotes or existing clients after they reserve our services. Essentially, we pre-screen each assignment request to ensure it is valid before asking you to decide whether or not you want to take it on.

  • You can reduce your taxable income on your annual income tax filing with the Canada Revenue Agency by claiming eligible expenses for working as a sub-contractor, for using space where you live for office / admin work, and for using your vehicle for work.
  • We provide service every day of the year, especially on weekends and holidays when people tend to go away, and we pay 1.5X the normal rate for work done on a holiday.

  • You will interact with kind, animal-loving people who will appreciate and welcome the services you will provide, and who will trust you with their homes, belongings and their living pet(s).

  • You will have a territory and only be expected to drive to the homes of clients who live within typically 15-km from your home. We pay extra if you need to drive further (unless you agree to a larger territory when you join our team).

  • Walking dogs leads to getting exercise and the fresh are is as good for you as it is for the dogs; count on your health improving and not being stuck in a windowless office cubicle.

  • You will be pleasantly greeted at front doors by many pets that will be happy to see you and to also give you lots of unconditional love, affection and attention in return for just enough simple food and water, and all the play time and TLC you can afford.

  • You will experience improvements to your stress levels … numerous studies show that spending time with animals is relaxing and beneficial to human health.

  • You will learn about pet health and what it takes to become one of the region’s most respected, professional pet sitters.

  • You will have the opportunity to grow with us … we are increasingly called upon for our dog walking, pet sitting, medical care, and house sitting services. We provided our services to thousands of clients in the greater Ottawa region since 2005 and in Mississauga since 2012. Our goal is to reach more and more communities as we move forward.

  • We work on a very personalized level and are always available. We answer questions and solve problems quickly, and we invite suggestions for change and improvement regularly.

  • We have clear and concise policies and procedures so you will never have to guess about what you should or should not do.

  • We provide 4 detailed Orientation, Emergency, Procedures, and Policies Handbooks. Job shadowing and we continues with on-the-job coaching and accessibility.

  • We provide continuing education opportunities relating to all areas of the pet care industry.

If you love interacting with and giving care to animals …
we and our clients … and their pets … can’t wait to hear from you.
