How often should I schedule dog walks?
From my years working with dogs of all ages and breeds, most of our clients book one walk a day, especially during busy workweeks. Puppies, senior dogs, and high-energy pups usually benefit from 2โ4 walks per day to stay comfortable, exercised, and mentally engaged.
Do you offer private or group dog walks?
Yes, we do both. Private, one-on-one walks are our most popular choice because they let us fully focus on your dogโs pace, personality, and needs. For friendly, social dogs, we also offer group walks when itโs a safe and suitable fit.
How do I know my dog is safe on walks?
Every Loving Paws dog walker is certified, insured, and background-checked, and we follow Pet Sitters International standards. You’ll receive photo updates and visit notes after every walk, so you always know how your dog is doing.
What areas do you serve?
We offer dog walking in Ottawa. Weโve also expanded our trusted dog walking services to Hamilton and Mississauga, with trained local caregivers who meet the same standards.
Can I book walks last minute?
Yes, we often accommodate last-minute requests when availability allows. Bookings made within 3 days of the visit are considered last-minute, and weโll do our best to fit you in.
What if my dog needs medication?
We handle medication administration before, during, or after walks. Many clients use us for combined walking and medical care.
Can you walk multiple dogs from my household?
Absolutely. We walk siblings together if they’re compatible. Different energy levels might need separate walks for the best experience.
Do you walk dogs in bad weather or winter conditions?
Yes, we do safely. Living and working in Ontario means weโre experienced with rain, snow, heat, and icy sidewalks. Walk lengths may be adjusted based on weather, and we always prioritize paw safety, hydration, and comfort.
Can you help with leash pulling or basic walking manners?
While weโre not replacing full training sessions during walks, we do use positive reinforcement techniques consistently. Many clients see improved leash manners from regular structured walks.
Do you walk puppies differently from adult dogs?
Absolutely. Puppies need shorter, more frequent walks with extra patience for bathroom breaks, sniffing, and learning the world around them. We tailor every puppy walk to support healthy development without overstimulation.
How do you handle dogs with anxiety or reactivity?
Iโve worked with many anxious and rescue dogs over the years. We use calm handling, quiet routes when needed, and avoid triggers whenever possible. Walks are always customized to help your dog feel safe and confident.
Do you walk multiple dogs from the same household?
Yes. Weโre happy to walk siblings together if itโs safe and comfortable for them. If dogs have very different energy levels or walking styles, we may recommend separate walks for the best experience.
