Client Portal & App | Loving Paws

Booking a visit at midnight. Checking if your dog walker showed up during your lunch break. Paying an invoice from an airport gate before a flight. None of that used to be simple for pet owners. Now it is.

Every Loving Paws client gets a personal online account that keeps you connected to your pet’s care wherever you happen to be, whether that’s your kitchen table in Barrhaven or a beach chair somewhere far from Wi-Fi.

What Is the Loving Paws Client Portal and App?

The Loving Paws Client Portal and Client App are the two ways you manage your account with us online. Both connect to the same account, so you can book visits, message your caregiver, update your pet’s profile, and pay invoices without ever picking up the phone.

Behind the scenes, we run on Time To Pet, a scheduling and communication platform used by thousands of professional pet sitting and dog walking companies across North America. On your end, none of that matters much. Everything you see, from the login screen to the messages you receive, is set up specifically for Loving Paws.

How to Book a Visit Online

Requesting a visit takes a couple of minutes. Log into the app or portal, choose your service (dog walking, in-home pet sitting, house sitting, whatever you need), pick your dates, and submit the request. Our team reviews every booking before it’s confirmed, so you always know it’s real and not just sitting in a queue.

Heading away for a week or two? You can schedule the entire trip in one go instead of booking each visit separately. Need to change a date or cancel something last minute? Submit the request through your account and we’ll take it from there.

Real-Time Updates During Every Visit

This is the part most clients tell us they love most. As soon as your caregiver finishes a visit, you get an update with photos and a short e-diary note covering what your dog ate, how the walk went, or whether your cat decided to be dramatic about dinner again.

Some visits also include a visit report card, a quick summary covering the specific things you asked us to watch for, like medication timing or how your pet handled being alone.

Messaging Your Caregiver Directly

Got a quick question or a last-minute update, like your cat’s gone off her food or the side gate is sticking again? Message your caregiver directly through the app or portal. Every conversation is saved in one place, so you’re not scrolling through old texts trying to remember what you said last time.

Replies come by push notification, text, or email, whichever you actually check.

Updating Your Pet’s Profile and Care Instructions

Feeding schedules change. Medications get added. Maybe you finally remembered to mention where the spare leash lives. You can update your pet’s profile any time, including details like medication timing, emergency contacts, parking instructions, or building access notes if you’re in a condo with visitor restrictions.

Your caregiver sees the update before their next visit, so you’re not repeating yourself every season.

Paying Invoices, Tips and Partial Payments

Invoices land in your account and can be paid by card or ACH directly through the app or portal. If your sitter went above and beyond, you can add a tip in the same place, and you can even set a default amount so it’s applied automatically going forward.

Need to split a payment instead of covering the full invoice at once? You can pay a percentage or a set dollar amount and settle the rest later.

Storing Vaccination Records and Other Documents

Vaccination records, care instructions, anything you don’t want to dig up every time we ask. Upload it once and it stays attached to your pet’s profile. Your caregiver has access to it in the field, so there’s no scrambling for a paper copy before a visit.

Getting Started as a New Client

Setting up your account takes about five minutes. You’ll create a password, review and sign our service agreement, add your pet’s details, and set up a payment method. If you’d rather not add a card right away, that’s fine too, nothing about the process is rushed. Once you’re set up, we’ll send a welcome message with a link to download the app.

App or Web Portal: Which Should You Use?

Both use the same login, so pick whichever fits your habits. The app is the faster option if you’re managing things from your phone day to day. Search “Time To Pet” on the Apple App Store or Google Play to download it.

Prefer not to download anything? The web portal works from any browser, including the one on your phone. Bookmark the login page and use it exactly like you would the app. Switch between them whenever you want. Nothing gets lost either way.

Is It Free and Is My Information Secure?

There’s no cost to you for using the Client Portal or App. It’s part of how we manage your account, not an add-on service. Payment details are processed through a secure system and are never visible to our staff directly, and your personal information is only ever used to coordinate your pet’s care.

Why We Manage Things This Way

We’ve been caring for pets across Ottawa, Hamilton, and Mississauga since 2005, and the tools have changed a lot faster than the reason we use them. A clear system means less time lost to paperwork and more time actually spent with your pet. It also means your care doesn’t depend on a message getting buried or a sticky note falling off the fridge.

Do I have to use the app, or can I still make a reservation using your website’s “Get Quote” button and complete the form?

Not at all. You’re always welcome to book your request using our website, and call or email our office directly. The app and portal are just there for clients who’d rather manage things on their own time, especially outside office hours.

They’re connected. Time To Pet is the software running behind the scenes, but everything you actually interact with, from your account to your messages to your invoices, is set up specifically for Loving Paws. You’re managing your account with us, not with a separate company.

That’s completely fine. The web portal has the same features as the app and works from any browser, including the one on your phone. Bookmark the login page and use it just like you would the app.

Yes. Payments are processed through a secure system built for service businesses like ours, and your card details are never stored or visible to our staff directly.

Yes, add as many as you need. Each pet gets its own profile with feeding instructions, medical notes, and any other details specific to that animal, so nothing gets mixed up between your dog and your cat.

Submit a change or cancellation request through your account and our team will review it as soon as possible. For anything last minute, calling us directly or sending an email is still the fastest way to reach someone.

Yes. You can choose email or text instead of app notifications, so you’re never out of the loop even without the app installed on your phone. *fee applies.

They cover different things but work together. Ready-Key handles the physical side of home access, your key and how it’s stored and logged. Your online account handles scheduling, updates, and payments. Both are part of how we keep your care organized and secure.

Use the “forgot password” link on the login screen and a reset email arrives within a few minutes. If it doesn’t show up, check your spam folder before reaching out to us.

No. Your account stays active between bookings, so returning clients simply log in and request a new visit whenever needed. There’s no re-onboarding unless something significant has changed.

Yes, mention your preference when requesting a visit and we’ll do our best to match you with the same caregiver. For clients with an established relationship with a sitter, we work hard to keep that consistent.

Reach out to our office by phone or email and we’ll help sort it out. You’re never stuck troubleshooting alone.

Reasons to join our team and earn a good income

WE WORK HARD TO SUPPORT OUR DOG WALKERS, AND PET & HOUSE SITTERS

  • Work with us as one of our sub-contractors by driving to the homes of our clients to provide dog walking, pet sitting, medical care, and house sitting services.

  • The amount of work depends on the number of requests we receive from clients for our services, and that number keeps on growing as more and more pet parents and home owners learn of our services.

  • We diligently maintain our website and routinely work to ensure strong Web Search Engine Optimization so that our website appears top-most on web pages for search results.

  • Requests for our services come from clients who come to our website and submit quote or reservation requests. We then assign the work directly to you.

  • All work is paid, and we pay one of the pet care industry’s best rates for walking dogs, pet sitting, and house sitting.

  • No purchase of any “kit” is required to work for us. We do not charge any fee as a condition of working with us. We are not a pyramid-type organization.

  • There is much flexibility in terms of where, when, and how work is done, as long as the needs of our clients and their pets are met, and as long as what is paid for is done (we guarantee the duration of each visit, and that the visit will take place). Most clients are easy going about the services they need. Some clients are more specific; e.g. if their pet needs medication.

  • Aside from a computer with internet access, cell phone, and a vehicle that you need to work with us, we provide everything else you need to do the work, and for free: our admin software tool, access to our database, personalized email address, your insurance coverage and bonding, all the necessary printed materials, a professional binder for all documents, 4 handbooks covering medical care, procedures, and policies topics, and brochures/posters for networking.

  • We generally sponsor one major pet-related event annually; e.g. Pet Expo, and expect you will attend with us.

  • We put you in touch with new clients after they accept our quotes or existing clients after they reserve our services. Essentially, we pre-screen each assignment request to ensure it is valid before asking you to decide whether or not you want to take it on.

  • You can reduce your taxable income on your annual income tax filing with the Canada Revenue Agency by claiming eligible expenses for working as a sub-contractor, for using space where you live for office / admin work, and for using your vehicle for work.
  • We provide service every day of the year, especially on weekends and holidays when people tend to go away, and we pay 1.5X the normal rate for work done on a holiday.

  • You will interact with kind, animal-loving people who will appreciate and welcome the services you will provide, and who will trust you with their homes, belongings and their living pet(s).

  • You will have a territory and only be expected to drive to the homes of clients who live within typically 15-km from your home. We pay extra if you need to drive further (unless you agree to a larger territory when you join our team).

  • Walking dogs leads to getting exercise and the fresh are is as good for you as it is for the dogs; count on your health improving and not being stuck in a windowless office cubicle.

  • You will be pleasantly greeted at front doors by many pets that will be happy to see you and to also give you lots of unconditional love, affection and attention in return for just enough simple food and water, and all the play time and TLC you can afford.

  • You will experience improvements to your stress levels … numerous studies show that spending time with animals is relaxing and beneficial to human health.

  • You will learn about pet health and what it takes to become one of the region’s most respected, professional pet sitters.

  • You will have the opportunity to grow with us … we are increasingly called upon for our dog walking, pet sitting, medical care, and house sitting services. We provided our services to thousands of clients in the greater Ottawa region since 2005 and in Mississauga since 2012. Our goal is to reach more and more communities as we move forward.

  • We work on a very personalized level and are always available. We answer questions and solve problems quickly, and we invite suggestions for change and improvement regularly.

  • We have clear and concise policies and procedures so you will never have to guess about what you should or should not do.

  • We provide 4 detailed Orientation, Emergency, Procedures, and Policies Handbooks. Job shadowing and we continues with on-the-job coaching and accessibility.

  • We provide continuing education opportunities relating to all areas of the pet care industry.

If you love interacting with and giving care to animals …
we and our clients … and their pets … can’t wait to hear from you.
