From a young age, I have been driven by a deep commitment to social justice and a passion for helping vulnerable people and animals alike. I firmly believe that actions speak louder than words, and this principle has guided both my professional and personal endeavours.
In my professional career, I have served as a national representative for three major unions, advocating for employees’ rights while fostering mutual respect with management. Within the federal government, I have held roles as an investigator, adjudicator, and tribunal liaison officer, consistently striving to balance fairness with compassion.
Beyond my professional life, my dedication to animal welfare has been a significant part of who I am. I have volunteered and worked with the Montreal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and served as a caregiver at the Parliament Hill Cat Sanctuary until its closure in early 2013. When the sanctuary shut down, I adopted Coal, who remains the last surviving cat from Parliament Hill. I continue to maintain his bilingual Facebook page, sharing his adventures and raising awareness for animal rights and humanitarian causes.
Over the years, I have cared for my own cats through various health challenges, becoming skilled in administering medications and recognizing when veterinary intervention is needed. After completing a human CPR first aid course at work, I pursued pet first aid training, further enhancing my ability to provide care in emergencies.
With more free time available, I reached out to Amy Shannon Leclair of Loving Paws and House Sitting to express my interest in joining her team of professional pet sitters. As the expression goes, the rest is history. Since the end of 2014, I’ve been delighted to bring my experience, compassion, and dedication to this new chapter of helping animals and their pet parents.
